This position is located in the Diabetes Prevention Program at the
Rapid City Service Unit (Sioux San Hospital). The purpose of the
position is to oversee the collection of project evaluation data at
the project site participating in the Rapid City Service Unit Indian
Health Service, Special Diabetes Programs for Indians Diabetes
Prevention Program. The incumbent will be collecting data,
coordinating data transfer from the project site to the Coordinating
Center, monitoring data quality and implementing quality assurance
measures, and ensuring that all data collection activities are
carried out in accordance with grant guidelines, project protocols,
and policies and procedures of the Rapid City Service Unit, Indian
Health Service. The incumbent will assist with the annual
preparation and maintenance of the budget and quarterly and annual
reports required of the grant. Performs other job related duties as

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
GS-7:(1) One year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-6
grade level.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with
the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform
successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or
related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable,
specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the
next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the
occupation in the organization.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Evaluate and advise on the
organization, methods, and procedures for administrative support
systems such as records, communications, directives, forms, files,
and documentation. Analyzing management information requirements to
develop program or administrative reporting systems including the
systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques,
and systems evaluation methodology. Identify and develop data
required for use in the management and direction of the grant
program. Monitors the execution of obligation and expenditures of
funds of the grant. Collect and monitor data gathered from various
sources. Ensures that data is collected, managed, and transferred
accurately. With Health Systems Specialist, set up procedures for
tracking and ensuring timely follow-up for participant activities.
Monitor data collected and ensure that all forms are filled out
completely, accurately, and consistently. Ensure patient
confidentiality and HIPPA and IRB requirements. Develop and
implement recruitment/retention plan. Assist in the development and
dissemination of program information. Provide administrative
support for the project director, coordinator, and other program
staff.
