Job Summary:
Directs the Housing Authority’s accounting practices, financial planning, financial reporting, investment management, and the coordination of the external audit.
Qualifications:
1.Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a closely related field. An advanced degree preferred.
2.CPA professional certification preferred.
3.Requires a minimum of five (5) years of financial, accounting, budget and supervisory experience; HUD funded housing authority experience required. Indian HUD experience a plus.
4.Requires advanced knowledge of and practical experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, governmental and business accounting and budgeting and governmental auditing standards and practices. Knowledge of low-income housing accounting, budgeting and auditing preferred.
5.Requires experience with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development financial requirements, preferably in Native American Block Grant programs.
6.Requires proficient use of a variety of financial analysis and other business software, including Microsoft Office programs.
7.Requires knowledge of accounting and compliance for funding from governmental grant agencies, which include both federal and state.
