JOB DESCRIPTION
This contract position screens appeals and if merited, hears and decides cases that come for resolution. Acts as drug court sentencing judge, enters appropriate orders and judgments, issues appropriate warrants, and judges cases assigned by the chief judge, drug court judge, or court administrator. Requires knowledge of Indian law, a law degree and experience as an attorney or judge, preferably in Indian Country. Must be 21. Contract must be approved by Tribal Council.
Applicants must have valid NV driver's license, be insurable under Tribal vehicle policy, and pass drug & background checks. Preference given to qualified Indian applicants in accordance with 25 CFR 273.45.
