The Sioux YMCA offers a unique opportunity for a mission driven leader! The Sioux YMCA Executive Director will have a deep and lasting impact on the children and adults living in the communities of the Cheyenne River Reservation, while continuing the heritage of celebrating, teaching and protecting Native American culture and traditions through innovative programs including a new resident camp. The position reports to a local Board of Directors with fund raising support of a strong National Board of Trustees. With leadership from the Executive Director, the two groups provide ample help to raise annual sustaining money and develop endowment.
The successful candidate will have a passion to serve, a strong commitment to the YMCA mission and a high level of respect for Native American culture and history. The new Executive Director must enjoy and understand how to develop and sustain programs for children and teens. The ability to work with and motivate volunteers and staff, develop community support, and problem solve with creativity and energy is important. The successful candidate will be an experienced program leader who demonstrates the abilities to listen, teach, encourage and do, always leading with a positive example.
